About

Easily 15 years in the making, Samantha’s Uniquely LBI was a crazy idea that went through many iterations (Like when I realized to make and sell baked goods you have to get up when it is still dark out, no thanks). The project stopped and started many times, but it always came back to my love of food, and LBI, and wanting to share it with people.

I worked in food service for 4 summers while in High School and I learned a lot, especially that if I went into food service as a career I would probably end up hating food service. Don’t get me wrong I am very thankful for those jobs and I learned so much from the business owners, but I realized I needed to share my love a food another way.

Some of you may remember LBI is Alive and the See You This Summer campaign back on 2013. That was ME… and my mom. I graduated from The Smeal College of Business at Penn State in December of ’12 and jumped right into helping my home, LBI. Any local will tell you, LBI love runs deep, we all love our little paradise… and cannot imagine living anywhere else.

Salt Water is an Islander’s Chicken Soup for the Soul.

My goal is to create all my seasonings using locally grown ingredients, if possible. Those items I cannot grow are still from organic suppliers. Let’s be honest, I am never going to be able to grow a Bay Laurel tree (Bay Leaves) on LBI, but I have some citrus trees and am working on a hydroponic set up inside.
